The other day in Westwood we saw young chic women walking out of a nondescript salon, swinging their long locks from side-to-side. We wondered who was producing these fabulous styles? You’ll never guess … when we peered inside there was a state-of-the-art salon filled with cosmetology students. It’s the Aveda Institute. We know what you’re thinking, but these women looked good walking out of the salon and the cuts are a steal. The cost is $15 for the month of December. After that it will go back up to $20. Maybe start with a trim and see how you feel about branching out to their other services. Also a good tip for your kids’ haircuts!

Took your advice and made an appointment at Aveda for color and cut. Just a note…you must be willing to dedicate TIME to this appointment. Mine was scheduled for 6:00, but I wasn’t actually seen until 6:20. By the time I paid, it was nearly 10:00. However, the color looks fabulous and the cut is good….exactly what I asked for…so all in all, it was a very good experience and I’ve already made my next appointment. Maria was wonderful and really took her time to make sure that my experience overall was a good one. Hot herbal tea, hand massages, head and neck massages, and mini facials are ALL part of the service. One other note….rather than acccepting tips, they recommend that you make a donation to a charity, which changes on a monthly basis. What a great idea!
