COMING TO AMERICA?

Clipboard01They are literally the hottest hair devices to hit bathrooms and bars in the UK.  What may have seemed like a harebrained idea paid off for a vending machine company and GHD, a beauty line, that sells premium flat irons and stylers.  Together they invented something called, The Straightening Up vending machine.  These vending machines have a waiting line in bathrooms and bars all over London.  Women having a bad hair day can get a quick fix by putting some change in a coin operated machine.   Obviously this isn’t your typical soda or candy dispenser. It works quite simply: $1.80 buys you 90 seconds of hair straightening time — the perfect amount of time to combat humidity and the frizzy aftermath.   Unfortunately there isn’t an exact date of when this import might hit the States.  We just hope by the time it gets here the machine will take credit cards as well as change  like the newly installed meters across Los Angeles.

I’m so sick of a certain group of people in “fashion” and “hair” equating a bad hair day to curls and needing a straightener. Guess what? I have curly hair and my hair is much more interesting and “styled” looking with less hassle than most ladies I see with straight hair. It’s about the cut and products and knowing what works for your hair. Straightening it out and consequentially damaging it are not the answer.

Did anyone pay attention to what was on the runway at NYFW? Curls. Lots of them, from Tracy Reese and Nicole Miller to Ports 1961 and Tibi.

WOW I’ve never seen anything like this.

Honestly it would be a good idea. I have curly hair, sometimes I straighten it and halfway through the day it starts getting unrully again, this would be great for a fixxer upper mid day!

This is a great idea! How many times have I needed just a touch up?

Let’s not forget that these stylers are also good for making curls — not just straightening!

This would be good for women with hot flashes too. A hot flash starts at the top of my head and goes straight down.

That sounds disgusting! In the name of fashion people are neglecting the idea of good health! Ever hear of head lice or scalp infections that cause hair loss? This is like a bunch of people lining up to pay to eat off the same spoon.
