ALESSANDRA AMBROSIO’S NEW HAIR CARE ENDEAVOR

Brazilian model, Alessandra Ambrosio, has been named the face and brand ambassador of Guthy Renker hair care company, Marajó.  Inspired by a nut found on an island in the Brazilian Amazon, the line’s signature ingredient, pracaxi nut oil, has been praised by Brazilian natives for its remarkable soothing and healing properties.  “Brazil has so many ingredients for skin and hair,” shares Ambrosio,”Pracaxi is very nourishing, kind of like a new miracle oil.”

Launched this week on Sephora, QVC and Marajó.com, the collection includes a Nourishing Cleansing Crème, Deep Treatment Butter, 3-In-1 Finishing Spray, Blow Out Styling Crème and Anti-Frizz Smoothing Serum.  Products are sold individually for $18-$29 or bundled with subscriptions.

After years of anticipation, Rihanna finally launches her global makeup brand, Fenty Beauty, on Friday.  Appearing in nearly 1,600 Sephora stores worldwide and on-line, the collaboration with Kendo Brands, a LVMH-owned beauty developer, was inspired by Rihanna’s efforts to find products that worked across all skin types and tones.  Just like Rihanna, the brand is both edgy and feminine, with a complexion-focused product assortment developed to work together and provide everyone with Rihanna’s real-life method for killer radiance, The Fenty Face. “The Fenty Face was created for women of all skin tones, of all personalities,” she says. “These steps are key to starting your makeup, no matter the look you’re going for. This is where the fun begins.”

Fenty Beauty’s first collection features more than ninety skus, including forty shades of Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation, a universal Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Primer, thirty magnetic Match Stix Skinsticks (in both matte and shimmer finishes) to contour, correct, conceal, highlight and blush, plus six cream-powder hybrid Killawatt Freestyle Highlighters for face and eyes, Invisimatte Blotting Powder and Paper; a universal lip gloss (“Gloss Bomb”), and a variety of application tools.
