CHRISTINA APPLEGATE’S LATEST CANCER PREVENTION

Wednesday, October 11th, 2017

Christina Applegate is no stranger to cancer.  In 2008 she was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent a double-mastectomy.  Speaking with TodayShow.com the actress revealed that she had her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed two weeks ago.  Why?  Her cousin died from ovarian cancer the same year of her own cancer diagnosis which led her to the realization, “I could prevent that. That’s how I’ve taken control of everything,” she shared. “It’s a relief. That’s one other thing off the table. Now, let’s hope I don’t get hit by a bus,” she joked.  Applegate has changed her life by reducing her stress and being diligent about eating only organic foods.

The actress has also founded Right Action for Women, an organization which helps at-risk women pay for MRI screenings and genetic testing.  “If you’re BRCA positive, it’s highly possible you’ll develop cancer in your lifetime,” she explained.  “The chances that my daughter is BRCA positive are very high. I look at her and feed her the cleanest foods. I try to keep her stress levels down,” adding, “I’m doing everything I can on my end knowing that in 20 years, she’ll have to start getting tested. Hopefully, by then there will be advancements.”
