NAOMI WATTS: TRANSITIONING IN LIFE & HOLLYWOOD

naomiNewly-single, Naomi Watts, has recently opened up about her breakup with longtime partner, Liev Schreiber.  In an interview with The Daily Telegraph Australia, the actress, 48, admits that “change is always scary,” but “I feel I’m in a good place in my life and I want to make sure my kids are healthy, my kids are happy and things are going to go well.”  Watts acknowledges that transition is difficult for anyone, “whether you’re famous or not.”  Adding, “I feel like change is always scary, but that’s only because transition for anyone is new and you wonder how things are going to go.”

Watts has made a career based upon meaty roles which are not “centered on vanity.”  In fact, she acknowledges, “I’m prepared to look old if I have to, that’s not a problem.”  However, she admits, “It’s probably a bit harder aging in the spotlight, and it’s touch getting older on camera and feeling the pressure because there’s more judgement and more focus on you.”

  1. It’s nice to read her acknowledge aging on camera b/c I’m not sure if it’s b/c she’s blonde or has spent a lot of time in the sun, but I do see what she’s saying. It’s not a bad thing, but as someone who is younger maybe a reminder to use SPF and do things to help look younger like sleeping and eating better.

I’m referring to her on camera time in St. Vincent: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2170593/mediaviewer/rm1446171648
