At the 89th Academy Awards in Los Angeles, Emma Roberts looked like a #vintagedream with classic Hollywood bombshell waves by celebrity stylist, Nikki Lee.  Since Emma’s hair was freshly colored in the morning, to maintain her color and style throughout the night, Nikki turned to ABBA Pure Performance Haircare.  Nikki began with ABBA Color Protect Shampoo and Conditioner.  “Since it’s color protectant, it helped to really lock in her cayenne spice red.”  Then she lightly towel dried the hair and applied a mixture of ABBA Smoothing Blow Dry Lotion and Thermal Protect Spray.  “This combination of products allowed my round brush to glide through her hair nicely and gave it great shine with bounce.”

While drying, she reapplied the Thermal Protect Spray and separated Emma’s hair into a deep side part, dividing it into three sections (the back and two sides).  Beginning on one side of the head, Nikki wrapped small pieces around a 1” curling iron from the tip to the root.  “I secured each piece with a clip to set the curl and repeated on the other side and finished in the back, making sure the hair was curled in the same direction.”  While the hair was setting, she let it cool for 15 minutes before removing the clips and gently brushing Emma’s hair with a Mason Pearson paddle brush.  When the perfect shape emerged, Nikki locked it in with ABBA’s Firm Finish Hair Spray.

ReVealingOn Sunday night, some of Hollywood’s leading ladies took the plunge in stunning, decolleté-baring, gowns, as Awards Season finally drew to a close.  A-listers, Charlize Theron, Jennifer Lawrence, Cate Blanchett, and Brie Larson led the trend, which was quickly followed by Saoirse Ronan, Julianne Moore, Jennifer Garner, Olivia Wilde, and Margot Robbie.

Best Actress winner, Larson, shined in a ruffled blue Gucci “illusion” gown, adorned with a sparkly belt.  Blanchett’s ethereal look, created by Armani Privé, was intricately embellished with delicate, feathered, flowers.  Theron and Lawrence‘s gowns, by Dior Haute Couture, were equally show-stoppers.   Thank goodness there were no wardrobe malfunctions here.

Kerry W Full
Kerry Washington, 39, left Olivia Pope’s white hat at home when she presented at Sunday’s Academy Awards.  Dressed in a sexy Versace dress with an edgy leather corset, she project both strength and power.  Makeup artist, Carola Gonzalez, was inspired by Washington’s bold look, “it immediately called for something I had never done with Kerry before on the red carpet. I wanted the make-up to be edgy, modern, and graphic.”
Gonzalez first moisturized Washington’s skin with Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel and then highlighted and concealed imperfections, where needed.  “I’m really excited to use Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Foundation, in Cocoa. It perfectly matches Kerry’s skin tone making it look flawlessly radiant,” she said.  She then applied  Neutrogena Healthy Skin Blush in Bronzed on the apple of Washington’s cheeks, to add a bit of color to the face.
Gonzalez decided on the bold shape of the liner around Washington’s eyes.  “I wanted to keep it simple, but strong,” she explained.  Using Neutrogena Nourishing Eye Liner in Cosmic Black, she lined the top and bottom lash lines, connecting them at the end and inner corner of the eyes.  To pump up the volume on Washington’s lashes, she then applied a few coats of Neutrogena Healthy Volume Mascara in Carbon Black.  She completed the look with a nude lip color, Neutrogena MoistureSmooth Color Stick in Almond Nude, one of Kerry’s favorite new shades!
