GET JING LUSI’S “LIT FROM WITHIN” GLOW!

Actress Jing Lusi looked radiant on the Hollywood red carpet for the global premiere of Crazy Rich Asians.  Makeup artist, Michael Ashton, highlighted Lusi’s smooth and glowing skin, which was “lit from within.”  He first prepped her skin using the DERMAFLASH 2.0 LUXE, which “gently exfoliates the skin and reveals natural radiance.”  Then he massaged a combination of Sisley Black Rose Precious Face Oil followed by Embryolisse Lait‑Crème Concentré to hydrate and plump the skin. “By spending a little extra time on really preparing the skin before foundation it makes creating a flawless cashmere finish skin that much easier,” he shares.  Ashton next applied Marc Jacobs Beauty Shameless Foundation and Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage to even out Lusi’s complexion before highlighting her many assets with Tom Ford Illuminating Highlight Pen and Charlotte Tilbury The Retoucher .
To moderate any unintended shine, Ashton used Marc Jacobs Beauty Finish-Line Perfecting Coconut Setting Powder and then added a final glow with the brand’s Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter.  Ashton created Lusi’s dramatic brow with Tom Ford Brow Sculptor and M.A.C Brow Set, before defining her eyes with Marc Jacobs Beauty O! Mega Eyeshadow in Daddi-O and The Big O! and Fineliner in Au (Spice).  After applying several coats of Hourglass Caution Extreme Lash Mascara, Ashton added a few of Ardell’s individual Short Lashes.  To complete the look, he lined Lusi’s lips with M.A.C Lip Liner in Subculture and applied Marc Jacobs Beauty New Nudes Lipstick in Moody Margot.  To see all of Ashton’s products, please read more …

UNDERCOVER PREVIEW: ARDELL’S MAGNETIC LASHES!

After falling in and out of love with our One Two Lashes (our last pair fell apart and Customer Service failed to replace them), we were thrilled to learn that Ardell, the leader in artificial lashes, is launching an affordable line of magnetic lashes.  Launching in January, The Magnetic Collection will be sold in most mass-retailers (including Sally Beauty, CVS, Rite Aid, Target, ULTA, Wal-Mart, and Walgreens) and retail for $13.99.  The collection includes Feathered and Demi Wispies, full lash strips, and two Accent segments for the outer corners of eyes. According to Terri Cooper, Executive Vice President of American International Industries, Ardell’s parent company, the brand’s magnetic lashes are “budge proof.”

Speaking with WWD, Cooper shared, “Because this is a new segment of lash at mass, we’re putting an emphasis on application education. First and foremost, we’ve included a detailed application how-to on the promotional display in retailers so consumers can see then and there how the lashes work.”  The brand has created application how-to videos, which will be shared across Ardell’s social media platforms.
