Demi Lovato slayed the red carpet at Sunday’s Billboard Music Awards in a sheer animal-print Dior gown with a plunging neckline and a thigh-bearing slit.  Exuding confidence, the singer chose to go with an 80’s inspired slicked back hair ‘do.  Celebrity stylist, César DeLeön Ramiêrz, created a “glossy healthy moisture rich look” for the evening, playing with texture and body.  César shares his step-by-step secrets with Beauty Undercover below:

César prepped Demi’s hair with BioSilk Hydrating Therapy Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner.  On toweled dried hair, he evenly applied BioSilk Silk Therapy Beach Texture Spray for body and texture.  With a flat brush and the BioSilk Titanium Blow Dryer he directed all the hair back and away from the face for “controlled volume and to create a tousled slick back look.”  Once hair was dried, he layered BioSilk Style Glazing Gel in small sections from the bottom to the top of the head and brushed each section back.  While applying the gel, he set the hair “with its natural texture in clips to create the ultimate wave,” then used the diffuser to dry on low hear.  Once dried and set, César removed the clips and finished the look with BioSilk Silk Therapy Finishing Spray.

The road to the holidays is paved with festive parties and friendly get-togethers.  There is no better time to pull out some fabulous fashions and accessorize with those extravagant “dinner shoes” (you know, the crazy-expensive ones you saved up for but can only wear from the car to the dinner table).  To protect our investments, while still savoring some holiday cheer, we turn to Solemates, a Shark Tank fan favorite!  Solemates’ unique rubberized High Heelers have become a Hollywood staple; Carrie Underwood, Lauren Conrad, Demi Lovato, and Oprah Winfrey won’t walk the red carpet or stage without them.  We use them whenever we find ourselves in snow, grass, and sand, or when our adventures take us through cobblestone streets, wooden decks, and subway grates.

Solemates is offering thirty lucky Beauty Undercover Subscribers an opportunity to SWAG its High Heelers (retail $12) simply by following them on Instagram (or liking them on Facebook) and entering  here. This SWAG Alert is open to Subscribers 18 years or older with a valid US mailing address only.  Delivery is anticipated within 3-4 weeks from notification.

Actress/singer Demi Lovato is being chastised by fans for her avid endorsement of weight loss remedy, TeaMi Colon Cleanse Tea.  Promoted by TeaMi Blends, the 30-Day Cleanse is intended “to purify the body from the inside out, cleansing the organs while simultaneously clearing the digestive tract of any toxins caused primarily by pollution, harsh chemicals and processed foods.”  In a sponsored (translation:  PAID) post, she shamelessly promotes the brand and even offers fans a discount.

Educated fans were quick to point out that the unregulated product contains the senna leaf, a FDA-approved, non-prescription laxative.  According to WebMD, possible side effects include stomach discomfort, cramps, and diarrhea.  It warns, “Senna is POSSIBLY UNSAFE when taken by mouth long-term or in high doses. Don’t use senna for more than two weeks.”  The laxative is also under scrutiny by The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, the American Herbal Products Association, and the American Cancer Society.
