All heads turned as Kerry Washington walked the red carpet at the 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday. Celebrity makeup artist, Carola Gonzalez, was inspired by Washington’s glamorous, golden lace Dolce & Gabbana gown, sharing “The slickness of the hair called for a glamorous, classic, and sexy makeup, which is exactly what I went for. Glamour, glamour, glamour in every sense of the word!!!” Naturally, what wowed us most were Washington’s bedroom eyes …
Gonzalez chose a palette that accentuated Washington’s eyelids in a fresh, natural manner. She used Neutrogena’s Nourishing Long Wear Eye Shadow + Built-in Primer in Mink Brown. The palette combines a built-in primer to help prevent creasing and smudging with long-lasting pigments. (Note: This is the same palette used by Simone Almekias-Siegl on Kristen Bell for the Golden Globes) She first applied the #3 color all over the lid, blending to the crease, and then traced the bottom lashes with #1, using a fine liner brush. Next, she lined the upper lids with Nourishing Eyeliner in Cosmic Black, before applying a strip of Velour’s Mink Lashes (from the Day & Night set). Gonzalez set the look with several coats of Neutrogena Healthy Volume Mascara in Carbon Black, and for a final touch, she used Anastasia’s Brow Wiz in Brunette.
