Skincare and beauty company, Glossier, the brainchild of Into The Gloss founder, Emily Weiss, is heading west.  The on-line retailer, which has launched pop-up stores in San Francisco and London, currently has one permanent showroom in the NoIita neighborhood of Manhattan.  The Los Angeles outpost will be in the Melrose Place area of West Hollywood, in proximity to other beauty boutiques such as The Apartment By The Line and Violet Grey. While the core business remains on-line, Weiss shared with WWD,  “Our offline activations are really the icing on the cake — we’re not looking to go wide with those.  We want to make it a very unique and special experience. If we do them everywhere, we won’t be able to deliver on that.”

Tack Talks

We’ve all either heard of or watched a TED Talk on-line.  Speakers have ranged from Bill Clinton and Madeline Albright to Deepak Chopra and Cheryl Sandberg.  But now its our opportunity to focus on The Business of Beauty.  The Tack Artist Group will hold its inaugural TACKTalks conference on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 in Beverly Hills, California. Designed for beauty industry artists looking to cultivate their personal brands into viable businesses, the exclusive event will offer up to 300 attendees an unprecedented opportunity to learn from and network with a panel of the industry’s top beauty influencers, insiders, and success stories.

Panelists, which include nail guru, Deborah Lippmann, celebrity hairstylist, Jen Atkin, and Glossier’s Emily Weiss, among others, will guide guests in the creation and development of their brand and marketing strategy, as well as share essential insider insights such as how to self-fund a product line, strategies for leveraging social media capital, and tips for finding a business partner.  For more information and purchasing tickets, please visit
