In addition to The Academy Awards’ winning-picture mishap, people are still talking about Halle Berry’s unprecedented Oscar hairstyle!  Speaking with Vogue, the actress shared, “I have always marched to the beat to my own drum, and I think this red-carpet look encapsulates that,” adding, “With this look, I celebrate my natural hair by allowing it to be wild and free.” We know that wild and free doesn’t come easily, so we turned to celebrity stylist, Castillo, to share his tips from creating this glamorous and whimsical look.   He began with the help of styling products from MOP Salon Haircare.  After shampooing and conditioning Berry’s hair, he added the line’s new Lemongrass Volume Whip and Lemongrass Lift to the roots for lift and added volume.  Then applied some of the line’s curl-defining cream from the mid-shaft through the ends.  Next, he diffused sections of the hair, and when the hair was completely dry, he used the used the T3 Whirl Trio Curling Iron to create different sized curls to define the look.  Finally, he sealed the entire look in with the MOP’s c-system hairspray.

     While wishing fans a Happy New Year in a behind-the-scenes video clip, Revlon announced its newest brand Global Ambassador, Gwen Stefani!  The superstar singer joins beauties Emma Stone, Ciara, Halle Berry, and Olivia Wilde, who serve in similar roles for the brand.  However, the Revlon X Gwen association just may be the perfect match for the brand; after all, Stefani began her career as a makeup artist behind the counter of The Broadway department store in Anaheim, California.  “I was a makeup artist when I was in my early twenties at the mall, they never trained me,” Stefani told WWD. “I worked behind the counter there for Borghese, which nobody bought because it was expensive, and Ultima II, which I think is actually owned by Revlon… I’d be like, ‘Let me put some makeup on you, let me show you what you could look like.’ I just remember making people feel so much joy and so inspired and so full of confidence, and that’s what makeup can do.”

“Gwen will clearly appeal to makeup enthusiasts,” said Benjamin Karsch, Revlon’s chief marketing officer. “She’s known far and wide for her red lips, so that’s definitely part of the attractiveness as a brand ambassador for Revlon, but that’s really combined with who she is as a person and also her love story.”  Stefani, who is romantically involved with country singer, Blake Shelton, is particularly excited to associate with Revlon’s Choose Love Campaign.  ” I feel like that’s aligning exactly with where I’m at in my personal life in the last couple of years and how I’ve had to kind of choose love, choose truth, choose to be positive and work my way back to a place of using my gift and sharing my love with people,” she added.  This is not Stefani’s first foray into the cosmetics business.  The singer currently presides over a line of fragrances from her Harajuku Lovers brand, and has designed a capsule cosmetics collection with Urban Decay.

The big 5-0 has taught Halle Berry to be fearless!  Posting on Instagram, the actress shares a glimpse from her upcoming lingerie line, Scandale Halle Berry.  According to the brand website, Berry calls Scandale a brand for “real women” with “real curves, real colors, and real needs.”  Berry shares, “its never too early or too late to do what EVER makes you happy.”
