PEOPLE’S SEXIEST MAN ALIVE 2018: IDRIS ELBA!

Monday, November 5th, 2018

People Magazine has crowned its 33rd Sexiest Man Alive, Idris Elba!  The British multi-hyphenate (actor, fashion designer, kick boxer, DJ, music producer, and Order of the British Empire ), has enjoyed a long career in both film and television outside of the glare of Hollywood.  Currently shooting Hobbs & Shaw, the spin-off to Fast & Furious, the father-of-two, 46, calls his latest moniker, “a nice surprise — an ego boost for sure.”  Speaking with People, he shares his initial reaction, “I was like, ‘Come on, no way. Really?’”  Then he “Looked in the mirror, I checked myself out. I was like, ‘Yeah, you are kind of sexy today.’ But to be honest, it was just a nice feeling.”
Elba, who is currently planning his wedding to fiancé, model Sabrina Dhowre, maintains a rather carpe diem philosophy on just about everything. “Life isn’t about thinking about what you should have done,” he asserts. Rather, “tomorrow is not promised so just go for it today, man. You might as well do it to your heart’s content.”
