The theme for Jeremy Scott’s twentieth anniversary show at New York Fashion Week was sparkle and shine! Aside from the all-star lineup, featuring Karlie Kloss, Sofia Richie (left), Gigi Hadid (right), Coco Rocha, Jourdan Dunn, Liberty Ross, Devon Aoki, Joan Smalls, and Stella Maxwell, models were literally adorned in glitter. Designed by Miss Pop for CND, the comet-inspired look was created with silver-dusted digits and featured CND VINYLUX Weekly Polish shades of Hot Pop Pink and Electric Orange and “a pound of glitter” to complement Scott’s collection. MAC Cosmetics makeup artist, Kabuki, added his own sparkle with three rhinestone dots below the models’ lash lines. “There was so much excitement in the clothes that I needed something kind of minimal to really tie in the makeup,” he shared. “We tried to pick these aurora borealis-like different shade crystals, something very simple but playful and a little bit out there and sparkle without transforming the girls too much.”

Summertime is the best time to enjoy luscious, colorful foods and outdoor activities. But did you know that both can contribute to dark teeth-stains? Manhattan cosmetic dentist, Dr. Victoria Veytsman, official dentist to The Miss America Pageant, helps supermodels, Karlie Kloss and Hailey Baldwin, maintain their dazzling smiles. Here she shares some surprising summertime favorites which cause staining to our teeth.
Dark Berries. While they are full of antioxidants and healthy, dark berries can stain porous teeth. Be sure to wipe teeth with a tissue and rinse after eating to minimize stains. There are even wine wipes and white wipes that work to remove the stains and brighten after eating/drinking dark colored foods.
Swimming. If you swim for hours each week, you could end up with spots called “swimmer’s calculus.” The high pH of the chemicals in the pool water causes proteins to harden into a dark brown tartar. Professional whitening is required.
Popsicles. Brightly colored popsicles may be refreshing on a hot summer day, but the artificial colors stain. Make sure to brush after consuming to remove any colors.
Citrus Fruits. Lemons, oranges and grapefruits are highly acidic and can cause discoloration because they can erode tooth enamel. There are many products that support enamel from toothpastes to mouthwashes. While enamel erosion can’t be undone, you can prevent.
Channeling Marilyn Monroe in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (above) and Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast At Tiffany’s (below), Karlie Kloss recently starred in a new series of short films to promote this history of luxury crystal jewelry brand, Swarovski. The corporate ambassador, 24, shared with Marie Claire that she has always been an admirer of the timeless Hollywood glamour of Hepburn and Monroe. “What I love most about icons like Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe is the confidence they bring to every scene and character they played. Like many of my role models, they’ve shown that a woman who is confident and strong-willed will always be in style.” Kloss, herself, is a strong women who supports other women. In fact, she endows a scholarship program at Flatiron Pre-College Academy, encouraging young women to pursue interests in computers and coding.
