|While Paris Fashion Week is now in full-swing, we are taking a look at backstage Milan Fashion Week. At Marni (top), lead hairdresser, Duffy, played with idea of wet hair. Looks were “supershiny, superwet-looking,” he said, reminiscent of an edgier take on the 50’s (remember dippity do?), though “it’s not Teddy Boy, it’s not rockabilly.” He achieved this modern-day look with mousse and hairspray. At Etro, John Pecis also embraced an easy wet look. “If you want to achieve it in your life you just have to use the right products to hold the hair in place,” he suggested.
Ponytails, as seen at Alberta Ferretti (below), also dominated the runway. Hairstylist, Guido Palau, Global Creative Director for Redken, tied back loose, wet-looking hair in elastics, giving him the ability to play with the hair’s length. He used a softer pony at Prada, securing looks with Redken’s Wax Blast 10 High Impact Wax Aerosol Hair Spray. Anthony Turner offered a similar style at Missoni, creating low, romantic ponytails with texture from Moroccan Oil products.
