SWAG ALERT: KERRY WASHINGTON’S GOLDEN EYES!

Monday, January 9th, 2017

All heads turned as Kerry Washington walked the red carpet at the 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday.  Celebrity makeup artist, Carola Gonzalez, was inspired by Washington’s glamorous, golden lace Dolce & Gabbana gown, sharing “The slickness of the hair called for a glamorous, classic, and sexy makeup, which is exactly what I went for. Glamour, glamour, glamour in every sense of the word!!!”  Naturally, what wowed us most were Washington’s bedroom eyes …

Gonzalez chose a palette that accentuated Washington’s eyelids in a fresh, natural manner.  She used Neutrogena’s Nourishing Long Wear Eye Shadow + Built-in Primer in Mink Brown.  The palette combines a built-in primer to help prevent creasing and smudging with long-lasting pigments. (Note:  This is the same palette used by Simone Almekias-Siegl on Kristen Bell for the Golden Globes)  She first applied the #3 color all over the lid, blending to the crease, and then traced the bottom lashes with #1, using a fine liner brush.  Next, she lined the upper lids with Nourishing Eyeliner in Cosmic Black, before applying a strip of Velour’s Mink Lashes (from the Day & Night set).  Gonzalez set the look with several coats of Neutrogena Healthy Volume Mascara in Carbon Black, and for a final touch, she used Anastasia’s Brow Wiz in Brunette.

SWAG ALERT: KRISTEN BELL’S EMMY GLOW!

Wednesday, September 21st, 2016

68th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards - ArrivalsWe all agree that Kristen Bell looked ravishing at Sunday night’s Emmy Awards.  Dressed in a floral gown by Zuhair Murad, the actress simply glowed on the red carpet.  Celebrity makeup artist, Simone Almekias-Siegl was inspired by Bell’s elegance.  “My inspiration started with the dress,” confessed Almekias-Siegl.  “It was important that her skin was fresh and dewy looking, which we achieved.”  Naturally, it all begins with luminous skin!

Almekias-Siegl began by prepping Bell’s skin.  She first wiped Bell’s face with Neutrogena’s Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes to remove any oils and then gave the skin a good scrub.  Next, Almekias-Siegl gave Bell a one-two hydration punch, applying the brand’s Hydro Boost Water Gel and Gel-Cream Eye. The unique water gel formula absorbs quickly, like a gel, but has the long-lasting, intense moisturizing power of a cream.  For makeup, she applied Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup and a bit of Skin Brightening Eye Perfector under the eyes, to highlight and cover any dark areas.  “I used almost no powder to keep her skin dewy looking,” Almekias-Siegel shared, “Just a little in the t-zone.”  Then she applied some Healthy Skin Blush in Bronzed directly to Bell’s cheeks.

For Bell’s bright eyes, Almekias-Siegel brushed some MAC shadow in Expensive Pink all over the lids and highlighted with the light pink shade in Neutrogena Nourishing Long Wear Eye Shadow Palette in Cool Plum.  “I always like to mix two mascaras,” the makeup artist admitted.  “One for volume and one for lengthening to get the wispy and full lash effect.”  Her picks were Healthy Volume and Healthy Lengths Mascaras.  To complete the look, she used MoistureSmooth Color Stick in Classic Nude.  This treatment cosmetic instantly moisturize lips, while continuously conditioning them so they are softer and smoother in just 3 days.

Neutrogena  is offering several lucky Beauty Undercover Subscribers an opportunity to SWAG its Emmy Glow Duo, Hydro Boost Water Gel and Gel-Cream Eye (retail $37.98), simply by liking following on Instagram (or Facebook, if you don’t have) and entering  here. This SWAG Alert is open to Subscribers 18 years or older with a valid US mailing address only.  Delivery is anticipated within 3-4 weeks from notification.

STEAL KERRY WASHINGTON’S RADIANT 70’s STYLE!

Sunday, September 18th, 2016

Kerry Washington owned the red carpet on Sunday as she appeared in a jaw-dropping, custom Brandon Maxwell Studio gown.  The pregnant star looked absolutely radiant!  Makeup artist, Carola Gonzalez, was inspired by Washington’s amazing hair.  “I wanted to compliment the look, but didn’t want to overpower the 70’s vibe,” she said, adding, “I wanted the makeup to be fun and have a touch of something that would make it stand out.”
Gonzalez bregan by highlighting Washington’s luminous skin with Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Foundation in Cocoa.  “This foundation is perfection.  It has great coverage and creates a radiant, healthy glow without having to use any extras to enhance the skin.”  Then Gonzalez applied blush on the apple of Washington’s cheeks, blending upward towards the temples, with Neutrogena Healthy Skin Blends in Sunkissed, layered with Vibrant.
For dramatic eyes, Gonzales created a dramatic double-line eyeliner in black and gold — black (Neutrogena Nourishing Eye Liner in Cosmic Black) closer to the lash line and gold right on top — extending the tail on the outer-edge to create a cat eye.  Then she applied several coats of Neutrogena Healthy Volume Mascara in Carbon Black.  “I would describe this look as classic with an edge and a touch of a 70’s vibe.”
Since Gonzalez didn’t want Washington’s lips to compete with her eyes, she used Neutrogena MoistureSmooth Color Stick in Warm Caramel.  “The shade kept the look neutral and close to Kerry’s own natural skin tone.”
