New York Fashion Week was characterized by bold fashions and even bolder eyes. Makeup artist, Pat Montelongo, went for glamour at Tom Ford (left) as she lined models’ top lids with thick kohl liner. “We didn’t want a straight line, we wanted a little bit of that curve to it so its not going out at an angle. It just goes softly hugging the eye and then just around the nice soft edge,” she shared.
To soften the look Montelongo diluted black glitter eyeshadow with eye gloss. The dewy look achieved with eye gloss was definitely en vogue at Public School and Prabal Gurung (center, top and bottom). “The gloss melts into skin and moves around with the lighting,” explains Grace Lee, makeup artist for Maybelline New York, who achieved the look with Maybelline’s Shine Shot.
At Marc Jacobs (right), however, Diane Kendal‘s dramatic liner created six cat eye options. “We’re using the black eyeliner in the waterline and using the magic marker, a pen eyeliner, and using that on top of the lid extending out and underneath — going into the inner corner. On some girls, it’s slightly thicker on the outside to really give that exaggeration.”
