Emma Watson’s latest role is the heroine, Belle, who appears in the Disney Classic, Beauty And The Beast. The 26 year-old English rose is quite passionate about sustainable and transparent beauty products. Speaking with Into The Gloss, the organic beauty junkie shares that she subscribes to an 80/20 philosophy, “because it’s very difficult to be a complete purist, especially when working in the film industry.” Embracing her bare skin, freckles and all, Watson explains, “The object for me when applying makeup is you should be able to see as much skin as possible.” While her skincare routine may include esoteric, organic products from Évolué and MV Organic Skincare, but like most women, she still has to bleach her upper lip and tweeze her signature eyebrows.
Watson’s public look is a clean eye and a matte red lip; yet, her daily routine includes the Red Pomegranate Cheek and Lip Stain from The Body Shop, RMS ‘Un’ Cover-Up Concealer and RMS Tinted ‘Un’ Powder. “You know, it’s hard to find a bronzer that’s a good color and not glittery,” Watson explains, so for contour, she uses Tata Harper’s Very Bronzing Cheek Tint and Vita Liberata’s Trystal Minerals Self Tanning Bronzing Minerals. She chooses pigments from Ilia Beauty and Elde Cosmetics (who makes “the prettiest cream blushes and eye shadows”), creating added drama with lipsticks from Lily Lolo, Inika Organic, and Absolution Cosmetics (by Isabell Carron). Sourcing a natural eyeliner took Watson “months,” but she fell for Jane Iredale’s liquid eyeliner in dark brown, and complements it with the brand’s Purebrow Brow Gel in clear. The only mascara she uses is from DHC, which comes off in warm water — not cold!
Watson’s oddest product? Fur Oil, which she uses “anywhere from the ends of my hair to my eyebrows to my pubic hair. It’s an amazing all-purpose product.”
