The women of the 2017 Teen Choice Awards kept it cool and classy with beautiful, girly looks. Yara Shahidi, Paris Jackson, Zendaya, Vanessa Hudgens, and Millie Bobby Brown (pictured left to right), were red carpet standouts, each demonstrating a sense of confidence and relaxed glamour. We especially loved Paris Hilton’s make-under, and Zendaya’s perfect balance of relaxed curls and defined lips. Viewers were shocked by the volume of “no-shows” (Miley Cyrus pulled out at the last moment, while Beyoncé, Zac Efron, Ariana Grande were simply absent) and video acceptance speeches from Bruno Mars and Gal Gadot.
Getting in shape and maintaining a hard body in Hollywood requires some heavy lifting — event if you’re young (28), beautiful, and successful, like Vanessa Hudgens. The star of NBC’s Powerless revealed in the May issue of Women’s Health that she has lost ten pounds since changing her diet. Hudgens’s meals are filled with proteins and fats. She eats a whole avocado daily because, “I need high fats. If I’m not getting enough, my body holds on to calories,” she shares, explaining, “We’ve been trained to think that fats are bad, but they’re so good—a source of energy and sustenance that keeps you going through the day. That’s the only way I can not eat carbs.”
Food, alone, does not deliver Hudgens’s dangerous curves. The devoted yogi (she goes at least three times a week!) is simultaneously a Soul Cycle junkie. “Put me on a bike in a room with loud music, and I’m happy. It’s like dancing without the stress of worrying if you look good,” she explains. To complete her work out routine, Pilates and circuit training are part of the mix. “I’m really competitive when it comes to fitness. I like being around people so I can compete.”
