Just as our skin begins to flake and turn ashy from dehydration, we realize that its time to update our skincare routine for winter.  Turning to one of our favorite Hollywood beauties, Viola Davis, for some advice, the award-winning actress shares, “Vaseline has been a part of my everyday routine since childhood and has helped me understand the importance of maintaining healthy skin.”  Its no wonder that she loves the brand’s new Intensive Care Cocoa Radiant Smoothing Body Butter.   Made with 100% pure cocoa and shea butter, Petroleum Jelly,  and Glycerin, it contains four times more emollients than any of Vaseline’s other lotions.  Intensive Care Cocoa Radiant Smoothing Body Butter‘s thicker texture allows it to quickly penetrate skin for a luxurious, non-greasy, mega-dose of hydration.  As Davis explains, “The combination of ingredients is the perfect trifecta for moisturizing dry skin.”

Vaseline is offering a limited number of Beauty Undercover Subscribers an opportunity to SWAG its Intensive Care Cocoa Radiant Smoothing Body Butter (retail $5.98) simply by following them on Instagram (or, if you do not have, liking them on Facebook) and entering through the on-line form here. This SWAG Alert is open to Subscribers 18 years or older with a valid US mailing address only.  Delivery is anticipated within 3-4 weeks from notification.

The cast of a ABC series, How To Get Away With Murder, presents an excellent example of diversity in Hollywood.  Week after week, lead characters, portrayed by Viola Davis, Jack Falahee, Aja Naomi King, Liza Weil, Karla Souza, Charlie Weber, and Matt McGorry, are seen with stylish, dynamic, contemporary looks, courtesy of Kemi Cooks, Department Head Hairstylist.  Getting the style just right in a high definition television show presents a greater challenge.  “Although HD television has a beautiful crisp picture, it can be a nightmare for hair and makeup stylists,” Cooks shares. “So, you must create a solid foundation in your blow out and if possible, try to stay away from airy hairstyles.”
Cooks always turns to smooth-based, stationary styles, which read best in high-definition.  She also uses light flexible hairsprays and serums to help combat “those flyaways that HD unfortunately enhances.”  To create long-lasting looks (actors generally work twelve to fourteen-hour days), Cooks typically starts with a good blowout and a leave-in protector, “using tension to create a smooth foundation,” she explains.  Cooks’ favorite leave-in protectors are Alterna Caviar CC Cream Leave-In Protector and BioSilk Silk Therapy Original Serum.

Stunning Oscar nominee, Ruth Negga (in Valentino) and exquisite Oscar winner, Viola Davis (in Armani Privé), painted the town red by bucking the golden trend at the 89th Academy Awards.   Both ladies stole the show!  The blue ribbon, worn by Negga, signifies support for the American Civil Liberties Union.  The moniker was also worn by Karlie Kloss and Lin Manuel-Miranda.
