Yara Shahidi’s classic, bold hair made a voluminous statement pared with her elegant Chanel gown at Monday night’s Met Gala.  Celebrity stylist, Nai’vasha Johnson, teamed up with John Frieda Hair to create Shahidi’s glamorous 60 inch ponytail with some “whimsical texture.”

Johnson began by separating clean, dry hair in quadrants and taming frizz with John Frieda Frizz Ease Curl Reviver Mousse.  Thoroughly distributing the product through with a paddle brush, she then sectioned hair into three triangles and applied John Frieda Frizz Ease Dream Curls Air Dry Waves Styling Foam to enhance Shahidi’s natural curls.  Brushing each section smoothly from the nape, she clasped the sections tightly with a bungee to secure into a sleek ponytail.  Removing a small section of hair, she wrapped it around the pony to cover the cord, securing with a pin.  Then she misted the ponytail with John Frieda Frizz Ease Daily Nourishment Leave-In Conditioner to hydrate the hair and before adding a lace mantilla, in observance of the Costume Institute’s exhibition, Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.

The 2017 Emmy Awards were marked by a return to Hollywood glamour.  While Stephen Colbert’s musical opening number entertained us and Sterling K. Brown’s speech moved us, the red carpet’s elegance really wowed us with exquisite hair, makeup, and wardrobe.  Some of our favorite looks came from (clockwise from top left) Zoë Kravitz in Dior Haute Couture, Michelle Pfeiffer in Oscar de la Renta, Nicole Kidman in Calvin Klein by Appointment, Susan Kelechi Watson in Christina Ottaviano, Jessica Biel in Ralph & Russo, Evan Rachel Wood in Jeremy Scott for Moschino, Thandie Newton in Jason Wu, and Yara Shahidi in Prada.  Which were yours?

The women of the 2017 Teen Choice Awards kept it cool and classy with beautiful, girly looks.  Yara Shahidi, Paris Jackson, Zendaya, Vanessa Hudgens, and Millie Bobby Brown (pictured left to right), were red carpet standouts, each demonstrating a sense of confidence and relaxed glamour.  We especially loved Paris Hilton’s make-under, and Zendaya’s perfect balance of relaxed curls and defined lips.  Viewers were shocked by the volume of “no-shows” (Miley Cyrus pulled out at the last moment, while Beyoncé, Zac Efron, Ariana Grande were simply absent) and video acceptance speeches from Bruno Mars and Gal Gadot.
